2023 Family Retreat Information

Here’s everything you need to know about our upcoming Family Retreat.

 

General Information

  • Date: Friday, September 29th (starts at 7:30 pm) through Sunday, October 1st (ends at 12:00 pm)

  • Location: Sandy Cove Retreat Center ~ 60 Sandy Cove Rd, North East, MD 21901 (usually takes 90–120 minutes from church… it will take longer during Friday evening traffic)

  • Check-In: From 5:00–7:00 pm on Friday in the Chesapeake Lodge Lobby (follow GBC signs to Chesapeake Lodge). If you arrive after 7:00 pm on Friday night, you can check in at the Chesapeake Auditorium. For those arriving on Saturday, please find a Registration Team member before the morning session.

  • Accommodations: Hotel-style rooms with bedding and towels

What to Bring

  • Bible, Notebook, and Pen

  • Dress is casual for the retreat ~ check the weather for this weekend in North East, MD

  • Clothes and tennis shoes for outdoor games

  • Toiletries

  • Pack ‘n Play ~ for families with infants/toddlers

  • Water Bottle ~ they have water bottle stations

  • B.Y.O.R. ~ “Bring Your Own Ramen” and some extra to share with others!

  • Board Games ~ For our Prayer, Praise, & Game Night on Friday

  • Pickleball Paddle ~ For our 1st Annual Pickleball Tournament (email Sunho Kim/skim8428@gmail.com to sign up your men’s or women’s doubles team)

Childcare Volunteers Needed!

  • If you can volunteer to help with our childcare during 1 of the 4 main sessions, please email Sarah Kim/ sarawryoony@gmail.com to do so. Childcare is provided for children from birth through 5th grade during the 4 main retreat sessions.
